Carp Pin
Carp Pin
The Carp Pin.
Also known as the mud marlin, the common carp has an interesting reputation in the South Pacific. As an introduced noxious species, it's notorious for causing trouble in our waterways. In fact, if caught, they must be killed and not returned to the water—a far cry from the care often given to our precious native species.
That being said, many anglers still hold a soft spot for the humble carp. They can be great fun to catch on light gear, and many anglers cut their teeth catching these mud suckers with a slice of bread or a can of corn under a bubble float.
The big carp can be a cunning foe and just as challenging to catch as many other fish. Keep in mind, carp are a prized catch in other parts of the world, and many European fishermen would be envious of the abundance of carp here.
Weather your doing your bit for the river or just love fishing and catching carp, celebrate the passion with our new carp pin and wear it proudly on your favourite hat, jacket, or bag, and let the world know you're a true carp king!
